Frequently Asked Questions

Q - What does "Nat'l" following an entry mean?

A - "Nat'l" indicates that the statistic qualifies for the National High School Sports Record Book.  The National Federation typically requires more attempts to qualify for their shooting percentage categories than are required at the state level which is why a statistic might be a state record but not qualify for the national list.

Q - Who maintains the list of 1,000-point scorers?

A - Minnesota Basketball News (Pacesetter Sports) has been the keeper of the list for a number of years.  There are over 4,100 boys and over 3,500 girls that have achieved the milestone.  Each list has been growing by over 100 per year recently.
